20th anniversary meet 15th July Birmingham Motorcycle Museum
So the idea was floated about having a 20th anniversary meet.
A location was floated about om the form of Birmingham Motorcycle Museum.
No one seemed against July (popkat sorry no one engaged with your initial mention for May)
So I just picked a date.
15th July 11:00 onwards Birmingham Motorcycle Museum
Like with most things people might not be able to attend and for that I am sorry if it is something that interested you.
If there's enough wanting the date changed then fair enough, it can be changed.
I will be coming from around 170 miles away which should take 3 hours so I've suggested the meeting time incase others are coming from even further away.
The initial plan is to just meet with nice bikes. I will contact some magazines on the off chance they may like to feature it somehow.
I'm sure other ideas will pop up. Early days.
Please PM or comment if it's something you can do.
***UPDATE***
I've spoken to the museum director. The price for entry is £9.95. However if we have 40 attending the price will be £4.95 which is pretty good. They also have a restaurant should people want a bite to eat.
Will regard to reserving space in the car park the first fella I spoken said they couldn't but the director James Hewing may be able to sort it.

Re: 20th anniversary meet?
any chance we can meet in spain?
also my spondon framed bike was a 1996. not sure if it was one of the first bikes registered within the uk, but that would make it the 21st anniversary

I don't know if Spain is overly viable...
Registered 1996. That throws a spanner in the works.
So is it the 20th anniversary or not? Everything I read said they started production in 1997.

Re: 20th anniversary meet?
Well it seems it may not be the 20th after all.
http://www.bike-lineage.jpn.org/honda/v ... 1000f.html
That's not Honda. However this press release was in December 1996. (you'll need translating on)

So basically I'm not so sure. I was initially under the impression no bikes were registered before 1997.

Re: 20th anniversary meet?
I will definitely try to make one if it happens

Re: 20th anniversary meet?
My Storm would be too embarrassed the state it's in. It would need a new suit for the occasion.

The put the engine in the wrong way aroundWell it seems it may not be the 20th after all.

Re: 20th anniversary meet?
Maybe it's 20 years sine the UK launch...The bikes have to be made before thay get shipped for sale so there would be a lead time before the bikes hit the showroom floors. Someone best get on to Honda UK for the offical take...
Race teams often get bikes early so they have time to prep before the season...that might explain Martys '96 bike.

Re: 20th anniversary meet?
So is it worth doing or not? If there was a 20th anniversary meet would some look on it and say it's a 21St?

Oh it's worth doing...just organizing it is gonna be a pain...StormyRob wrote:So is it worth doing or not? If there was a 20th anniversary meet would some look on it and say it's a 21St?
As said check with Honda for the offical date...So far it's only Marty that has raised the 21st thing & TBH you cant beleive anything much of what he says so I wouldn't worry about it.
So check dates with Honda. See if they want to get involved ?
Find a venue. Race circuit ? Tescos car park ? Stately home ? Service station ?
Set a date. Time ect.
Decide whats gonna happen when you get there...Food ? Toilets ? Ride out ? Prizes...Furthest to get there, Best std bike, best moded bike that sort of thing...
Decide if SP's will be alowed in...Decide if non Storms will be alowed in...Ex owners may want to attend...
Post a post.
Job done...Simples...
Over to you.
