Day at oulton park got 5 sessions in weather was bad this morning but dried out. First track day got quicker each session really enjoyed it can't wait for the next one hopefully dry and warm. On my last session out was braking lever was ok then it pulled right back to the bar and then felt like they wasn't working properly any ideas what that could be?

When did you last change your brake fluid ?, fresh fluid will make a difference. Also what pads have you got, they can cause fade too, I use EBC HH and have not had any issues with repeated hard braking.

Fluid is old and not sure what pads been in since I got in 3 years ago will be changing to the ones you mentioned and fresh fluid so hopefully that's all it is going to give calipers a strip down too and probably some wavy discs.

Brake fluid is hygroscopic so attracts moisture, It should be changed every 2 years really. I do mine along with pads, irrespective of the state of the pads. £100 for 2 years for stopping you safely. no brainer not too.

So just for a laugh I just added up fuel costs for the commute to work...From March when I started riding Custard into work till Oct 21... The day before I hit the deck...35 ish miles pre run... A fill up every 3rd trip...

£1353...in fuel alone.

Hmmm Time to find another job not so far away methinks...

Well I've solder the wires for the stick coils fingers crosses ( I can't really solder that well) put new head race bearing in fresh oil in the forks i think it's got ohlins springs?. Got lots of stainless steel bolts to replace the Isle of Lewis sea salted fitting, brake pads turn up today so I'll be busy sunday sorting out the blue vtr. Then tax it next weekend.

Got out for a 250km run this morning, great weather although not if you were to read the forecast. This was my first solid run on new T30 Evo tyres, and I'm finding the harder I ride, the more I like them. They replaced some Metzeler z8s, I have Roadtecs on my VFR and thought I'd try the Bridgies. By comparison the T30 is harder riding and faster steering, and seem to be slower to warm up, but when hot the feedback is sharper than the Metzelers.

Was out on the storm most of yesterday and today, with a blat on the RD before tea but yesterday I had a ride on my friend bought GSXS jobbies, I thought this sort of thing would be perfect for me but having ridden it and both old and new Fazer 1000's of recent, I found the front end heavy and whilst the wide and upright bars make for a very comfy position up to 100, after than on smaller A roads, when pushing on, the bike felt disconnected and vague from the front, wider bars and sitting up like a sail maybe or just too road focused?

Either way, my Firestorm was far more happy when pushed with much more accurate and lighter steering and I know they have a reputation for a being a soft-ish ride.

Engine was mega thou, pulled really hard from anywhere in the rev range and the standard can even had a nice bark to it. That element was certainly far nicer than the FZ1.
