what have you done to your "bike" today

i took a picture with it covered in sleet i will post it on the GS website and say i was in Andorra

On a recent trip to Dorchester i talked to a Guy with a GS Adventure, all the boxes all the gear, sat nav BMW Panniers and "Trailmaster suit", Trail tyres and head come all the way from Bridport. He had the bike from new and had toured the World for 3400 miles in 5 years. It may have been Ewan but not sure.

It seems in the "adventure world" you have similar knobs to the "roadracers " with chicken strips and new knee sliders. They are bikers though.

Fired the old girl up and took her out for the first ride of the year last evening (did 80 kms; a tuning ride). I was expecting to have to do some minor jetting changes further to the intake changes I made (ie. new airbox lid with larger filter element, matched port/collar/carb throat, lower profile butterfly screws) and this was indeed the case. Thankfully, having two Flo-Commanders (one for main and one for pilot circuits) greatly simplified the job. I ended up having to richen up the pilot circuit by 2 turns and was unable to sufficently richen up the mains (still had a slight lean surge with the screw turned full rich; will go up 2 sizes on mains tonight). Bike is pulling great and will only get better as the main circuit gets set properly.

sorted the Sat Nav wiring, it looked horrid, Fitted the Camera and fitted a rather nice Puig Hugger.

Ferry is booked for France and the Hotels are all booked too. Were off Sunday.

yup, I think Mike had 100k miles.

I don't even know what mileage mine is on as I always have the trip meter showing so I know when I need to look for a petrol station
