Just posting this to share the grin I'm wearing on my face after getting home from a 30 mile blast in the sun.
First time I've felt safe or comfortable on her.
The rear brake's now spot on after rebuild, the front braking is ten times better after freeing bobbins and partial cleaning of pistons, the headstock doesn't click and clunk on braking after grease and adjustment, the forks are much firmer but now awaiting new springs and oil, the gear lever is straight! She dont fart and cut out and lurch around at low revs after adjusting TPS ohms from 854 to 496.
20+ other little jobs have all conspired to transform a pretty horrid machine into a wonder.
Loads to do still, forks, tyres, front brakes, suspensions and linkages, balance carbs, check valve clearances etc etc but beginning to see why you people love the storm so much now..
wondering if ive time to go for another quick blast!

welcome to the club.
OCMD,
After 5 years the affliction is worse than ever and shows no sign of abating.
I've tried numerous remedies in the form of other bikes but this only exacerbates the problem.
Good luck !
