both have advantages and disadvantages, a supercharger dose have instant response, but a good percantage of the HP gained from one goes back into driving the blower its self, where as a turbos HP gain goes almost entirely in extra HP, I see no reason as to why a V twin shouldent be turboed ( honda turboed from factry one of there own bikes that being a CX650- a V twin and all ). Technoledgy has come a long way since the early days of turbos and turbo lag has almost been totaly eliminated, with huge gains in HP.

Its something diffrent and life would be boring if we did the same thing every day, day after day :D

Zim,
Words fail me, what an abomination!!
OK, the colour and gold plating aren't everyone's cup of tea but FFS if you're gonna go to the time, expense and trouble of supercharging a VTR, at least try to make it useable and aesthetically pleasing!!! :?

You'd need to have your left leg amputated to actually fit on the damn thing
I've got an inferiority complex
But its not a very good one!

Aha, I wondered how long it'd be til that came up!!
The problems they had developing that bike:

- needed the worlds smallest turbo (2" diameter) spinnging to 20,000rpm
- Crankcases were sturdy enough on CX donor bike but nearly everything else needed beefing up. Crank, con rods, pistons and clutch were all seriously upgraded
- Carbs were replaced with fuel injection
- An assortment of plenum (resonance) chambers were installed to overcome the biggest problem, that of surge

However, on the up side I have spotted that Mr Turbo do a kit for a Kawasaki vulcan (V-twin cruiser/custom thingy) for $4000US (plus installation!)

And there's a turbo charged nitrous Harley running in top fuel in the states
so its not impossible

nitrous also has its positaves and negatives , the most ovious been that you have to regulary refill the botles and over here in Aus it aint eazy and also cost a fair bit, :) once the turbo is on there is no additional on going costs other that what you would normaly have, also most wouldnot see it.

 Ok closer pics tomorrow, amoungst other things i"m a boilermaker so it a custom job by me, its very easy to do if your not going to keep orignal taillight etc. basicly its the standard subframe with the standard cross bracing removed then a nw custom X brace is welded in and extentions to the subframe welded in, after that a skid plate is then welded on, on the inside the standard inner tray is removed and a new battery mount is built in place, and also a new custom undertray is then cut out of Al and fitted. the plastic work around the scrape bar is trimed to fit and a led tail light is fitted onto the new undertray. ( this bike is not regoed and i only have the tail light for when i put on shows at the drags at night )

Nice vid Zim.

What gearing are you running on the VTR?
That rear sprocket looks so big it'd ground out on left handers! 8O

 Ben it's standard on the front and 56 on the rear, and the the coment about left handers is funny because most other stunters laugh at the one on it and tell me i need to get a bigger one, its about 15", darius from servin' it up runs a 16.5" sprocket on a 17" rim!!!!!!!!!!!!!( he can still go round left handers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
