Double edged sword!

Down on power, only did just over 118 at the rear wheel - the best std storm (with K&N, Dynojet and Cans) was 108.

Roger reckoned the valves might need looking at, as it should easily do 125bhp. Plus the rough running I had at below 5-6k revs would also point to valves, as the fuelling was fine.

Anyway, I have had the heads off over the weekend and indeed the valves needed lapping in - especially the exhausts.

Although it was down on power, it still felt way better than my old std storm, and as the extra 10bhp was something to really shout about, I am now looking forward to another 8bhp!!!

Just feel a bit of a tw@t for not doing it while I had it apart last winter!

Never mind, 8 more to get with a bit of luck

All sorted now, so off to get her Dyno'd again tomorrow (Sat 3rd).

Mid range malarky has gone so fingers crossed!

Still here!

Never did get it back on Roger's dyno, but had it on one at the Farmyard rally and it was still down a bit. However it was a mad hot day.

I lapped the valves in and rebuilt the top end, which completely sorted the iffy spot it had at 4 - 5 thou, and it was going well.

Then on July 5th, I ploughed my microlight into the ground and hit a dry stone wall - not recommended. Badly hurt with multiple breaks - now full of metal in my right leg and arm.

7 months later and I can walk again and looking fwd to the spring when I can get the old Moriwaki back out.
