Footpeg
Has anyone got a spare RH footpeg for sale, and the bit it bolts to as well?
Managed to drop the b8stard while tucking it in under its blankey this eve. I can't tell you how cross I am.
Smiley very cross face.

Re: Footpeg
I took out my footpeg once alongside a car in traffic as I squeezed through at high speed. I swear the bike breathed in
That's when the Harris rearsets went on rather quickly. Hopefully you only broke the peg. That's easily replaced. What about the the rearset itself where the peg mounts. Are the two prong bits of ally sticking out still solid at the base of the peg.

A picture paints a 1000 words...
One of these Yes?

The actual footpeg you can reuse if 'The bit it bolts to'...is snapped you'll need the whole thing as in the pic above.
Not sure I have a compleat one in the stores hoard & It'll be the weekend before I can dig it all out to look anyway...
Post a pic up of the offending part so we can advise/laugh/mock you misfortune....

Blimey Carl, you're a night owl and Mac, you appear to be a lark!
Thanks for answering my plea.
Yeah, sorry about description Mac. I was so incandescent with rage that I was lost for simple terminology!
Busted the footpeg itself & cracked the hanger where the pen is pointing. I don't think the hanger will break but cracked castings are never good.

Hope they come up OK.
There's a hanger on ebay for £36 with a solid peg.
Cheers in advance chaps.

Re: Footpeg
Fractured hangers have happened to most of us at some point after even a minor tumble.
To replace the right hanger (bit of a PIA) you'll need to either suspend the bike to remove the swingarm spindle or feed in the rear wheel spindle as support as you take out the swinger spindle.

Re: Footpeg
That's a pain. Wish I'd broken the other one instead now.
Still, it's realigned the exhaust to near symmetry & the broken peg has the foot rubber retaining plate intact, (unlike the other side, which was orange dust!) I overcame that by gluing 5mm nuts to repair washers.
It wasn't very comfortable using a long 8mm bolt as a foot peg bolted to the exhaust hanger. Had to get to work somehow.

Re: Footpeg
That's not too bad, and can be repaired. Take to any specialist welding workshop and ask if they can grind down the crack and fill with alloy welding. Should be no problem to get done.
Break it, mend it, mod it, thrash it. If it's made then it's bettered by beer and goggles. Me bikes had Kwak ZZR, Suzuki TL1000s, Yama R1, Aprilia RSV. Now have VTR, Honda CB750 hand built brat/trickster, Yama XS750 and wee old Vespa.

Cheers Mags.
I know someone who does alloy welding. Will get it to them when I don't need the bike.

Re: Footpeg
Hi Mac.
I repaired the footpeg with some careful drilling & tapping but it's only temporary. I daren't put all my weight on it with the tiny screws I used.
I'd appreciate it if you could find a peg in your stores & I'll transfer or post money to you?
Cheers

I have to do some bits in The MacCave today so all the bikes will be coming out anyway.
Note to self have a clear out & reorganise things so spares are not right at the back...

Re: Footpeg
Right hanger on ebay - you'll still need to source an OEM footpeg

I have a foot peg if you need it, needs rubber boot and ground nut but you can change them with your broken one. Or new ones on wemoto for under £20.

Cheers Wicky. Yeah, I saw that one earlier in the week but they were away until Thursday. It looks a good price and condition.
Thanks for looking Mac. It's a shame MacSpares.com is out of stock at this time!
Magsport. Thanks for the Wemoto pointer. Had a look, only 14 quid ea. complete with rubbers (that I've just renewed!)
Thanks for your help fellas!

Should've got your name right mags@port! Sorry.
Thanks for the offer of a peg mate. Probably not worth the hassle of posting for the sake of a few quid for a pair of new ones.
