the wheels are about a day each from start to finish and the seat only took about an hour but it will take a wile longer to fine tune it

Re: Polishing the Turd
That's what people don't realise when repainting something, it's the preparation that takes the time, and makes all the difference to what the finish is like once it's been painted.
Keep up the good work

Chris.
Re: Polishing the Turd
Tell me about it
The polished wheel looks amazing. A day to get one wheel looking like that is good going. Obviousley lots of power tools as a helping hand. It's a shame you can't incorporate some kind of access panel on the rear of that fairing so you at least have some storage space. What was the problem with the hump. Have you now got the hump instead
Your making good progress with this project. I gave my Harris hugger a quick coat of laquer to tidy it up, rubbed it down with some 1200 grit and polished back up with some 3M polish. Iv'e not used that before and was well impressed and that was just doing it by hand in front of the tele. No DA or Rotory so the finish would be out of this world with the right tools. TBH I think it may even be better than the Menzerna polish Iv'e used in the past.

not my race one ,my error so it was spend another £100 on a new seat and scrap this one and spend more time adapting the subframe or work on this seat . so being tight i decided to work on the race seat and if anything i prefer the smother lines of this seat to the more angular of the Ducati original

Re: subframe fettling
been busy in the last week so have not had time to work on the bike but had a play yesterday and started working on the sub frame

the sub frame looks a little high but thats only because the front of the bike is sitting low but if i have got it wrong it would not be hard to sort out

Re: subframe fettling
That was my first thoughts, the angle looking a bit on the steep side, but the camera can be deceiving.
At least you're making more head-way

Chris.
