Side stand loose
Side stand loose
Just about to set off for a few days in Wales and noticed one of the side stand bolts is loose and wont do up. Should there be a nut behind it or has the thread gone do we think? Thanks all.
Re: Side stand loose
If you look at these fiche pics you'll see that the Side stand mounting plate bolts on to one of the engine plates...
A/

B/

In B/ pic No.15 passes all the way through with the nut on the far side. That bolt is not on the A/ fiche pic...
IIRC the bolt No.6 in A/ is threaded into the plate No.2 in B/
Hope that helps.

Re: Side stand loose
Thats brilliant mate. Thanks very much. Its bolt 15 from B) fiche thats loose, it wont unscrew so maybe the nuts just slackened off....if not that and the perhaps the part No 19 pin dowel has gone awol..In Wales now so will have a look in the morning, had a fantastic trip up.MacV2 wrote: ↑Tue May 29, 2018 10:07 am If you look at these fiche pics you'll see that the Side stand mounting plate bolts on to one of the engine plates...

Mine will get to a certain tightness and then slacken off again, so the thread is buggered on one or most likely both the bolt and nut now.
Much appreciated.

I had all the bikes pulled out today...
If you had posted this a AM instead of PM I could have already told you yeah or neigh...
I'll pop one off another bike & see if I have a match...
