Scissor gears assy
Can't find the answer anywhere so would appreciate anyone's opinion/knowledge. Bottom end now assembled and while checking clutch and drive gear I realised I'd not noted the scissor gear to drive gear position when I stripped it. There are 3 positions it goes in... In one the teeth align and it's a lot of tension to move it clock 1 tooth. In another the teeth are half aligned and third the scissor teeth half overlap the drive gear, that's least tension. None of the positions match the official manual pics and since the gears and timing rotor have master splines they only fit one way. Honda doesn't specify but there's a huge difference in tension between posn 1 and 3. Does that make any sense?

Yes.
Best just leave them off.
They're not necessary, it makes no discernible extra noise and the gears don't wear.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
