Ohlins shock regas
I had to replace the hydraulic hose on my Ohlins rear shock, I thought it would just be a matter of getting it topped up with oil and regassed, but both localish..shock places I have called both say if the pipe has been off it needs completely stripped and rebuilt.
Any way round this?

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Re: Ohlins shock regas
Did you ask them why it has to be completely stripped and rebuilt if the hose has been off
There could well be a genuine reason for that I'm thinking, especially as two independent shock specialists have said the same. If that is the case you may be better off taking their advice, as it could workout more expensive later on,
Chris.

Re: Ohlins shock regas
I just phoned them, the shock is good, Im worried about getting hit with a £300 bill for "service" parts I dont need.
Re: Ohlins shock regas
If it hasn't been serviced in a while you might want the lower mount bearing cleaned and serviced at a minimum.
I let mine go too long once and almost paid the price.....

Yes the shaft did shear while riding......

Re: Ohlins shock regas
So they no longer have a spherical bearing in the bottom mount?
The upper mount has always been solid.

That's interesting, both ends the same I guess.
Cheers for the photo,
Chris.
Re: Ohlins shock regas
Do you have a pic of the lower mount?
Just asking as the upper mount, that you have shown, isn't supposed to have a bearing
