Water leak why please?

Hey guys been absent for a while but still been riding her when I can. Just want to pick your brains if I can. Took her out on Monday and noticed a leak running down casing guessed at water pump but couldn't see where so took her for a round round today and doing same only short run so investigated and found this hole!!! Looks like it's meant to be there but why is it weeping now? Waterpump fault or something worse? Thanks for any info guys.

Coolant leaking out of the weep hole indicates that the mechanical seal in the water pump is due for replacement

What he said , the drain pipe is there to get rid of coolant that has leaked through the mechanical seal , with bo drain it would try to migrate into the engine.
