Day Running Lights - Who uses them?
Re: Day Running Lights - Who uses them?
Brilliant! Think I'll do something similar but maybe use something a little more phallic for added interest...!

That was me on my way to work last April stopped at a set of traffic lights.

FFS, I despair....
Hope you were okay and got the bike sorted without too much hassle.

Re: Day Running Lights - Who uses them?
Hmmm, I've avoided that before now. Mirrors... quick sprint. Mind you that was in a car on the M25 in a jam, stationary. I had enough room in front to give the guy time to stop; which he did, sideways, a metre from my back bumper. Mind you I've been hit up the butt when I was on a bike and had no time to do anything.firestorm_al wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 1:26 pmKermitLeFrog wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 9:46 am My personal philosophy is to assume I am invisible to everyone around me. Have you already set a cracker if under their car ?
Some folks really should not be on the road,
Not sure about anywhere else, but with the lockdown I've noticed an increase in folks speed within the town. Tossers

Me too. And a distinct lack of attention. I've seen several cars/vans just pull out in front of others. It's like some folk are scuttling out as quick as they can and all they can think about is getting there and back and not think about what they are doing in the present.grumpyfrog wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 8:25 pm Not sure about anywhere else, but with the lockdown I've noticed an increase in folks speed within the town. Side lights and Dayglo aren't enough at the moment. We are invisable. Treat everyone with the contempt they deserve

My new ride is a bit of a Howler and I love to make her Squeal
Re: Day Running Lights - Who uses them?
I'm all for riding with the lights on, but not on high beam as I've known others do, just pisses people off. A good air horn helps. Not one for rev-bombing either, knowing my luck the clutch cable would choose just that moment to do one and I'd flip it. Remonstrating with cagers who have pulled out on me whilst busy on a mobile phone usually just results in a finger being given. They really need to throw the book at b8stard who focus more on their phone than on the road - crush their cars for a start, dangerous feckers.
I'm so unlucky that if there is such a thing as re-incarnation I'll come back as me!

No clutch cable on storms, one worry we don't have.....Mav617 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 19, 2020 10:17 pm I'm all for riding with the lights on, but not on high beam as I've known others do, just pisses people off. Running lights and headlight. I also have my running light converted to 12 leds. And In total overkill style I have a strong led light tucked into each airduct.
Its better to be seen.

Leave it with me.
A guy from Belgium made them years ago. But only a few of us bought them. So he stopped making them. More of a hobby thing really.
But they work perfectly.
Picture to follow

Very nice indeed!

I was also looking at stuffing a load of LEDs down those triangular-ish holes in the fairing. Definitely spurred me on with this little project.
Thanks again, much appreciated
