Selling up. But who know another storm may catch me
After 10 years of Firestorms and over a dozen of them, I have decided to have a clear out and reset.
Got a chance to meet a few of you in person and joined in a few track days. The technical support has been really appreciated.
Smokin Joe is on ebay and there will be a shed full of other bits listed soon, including the ultra rare 4 degree ignition advance and an almost new Nitron R3 shock. As a mark of respect for all the support i have have had i will discount anyone who identifies themselves as a forum member on the ebay items
Many Thanks to all
I will still be visiting the site obviously

Always sad to hear of someone 'resetting'. Happens to us all: family, work, Covid-19!!
Coincidence that I saw your bike on The Bay last night. Certainly a good price offered. I can't imagine having 10 Storms, but as posted in another thread, the damn things are addictive. I'm on my third and I have the avatar SP-2 also.
All the best for whatever you might do, and maybe I'll see you soon

Damn!
Just got home after a 4 hour round trip to collect some goodies from Stuart, and NOW I read about the CCTs

Gotta head outside now to do some serious Autosoling of my new wheels!
Thanks for making this stuff available, and a pleasure to meet and do business with a fellow forum member!

Re: Selling up. But who know another storm may catch me
i am officially Stormless. Smokin Joe gone. Feels a bit strange. I will give you the history. started 2010
Got my 1st storm as a cat c that had thrown its chain and broke lugs off the crankcase. I managed to get a 3000-mile engine and a load of other trick bits. Just prior to the start of the build i had to go for emergency surgery, i mean 17 hours down the 24 hours to live route. The cat had been put out and the curtains were being drawn. After 2 weeks in intensive care i got through. My cognitive thinking process took a big hit. I could not drive because i could not visualise or remember the route. And i had lost people’s faces. names etc. Pretty messed up really. And to add to all that, my arsehole was now next to my belly button. A stoma... that means a bag. It was over a week before I stood up, and mega pain for weeks as I had been split open from Richard to breast bone and had the internals out.
I was still in mega pain when I started the rebuild, but somehow it enabled me to focus on something. I went over everything, and cleaned it, polished it etc.
I actually ended up with the best-looking storm I ever had. But in that dark time, it was my salvation.
I got repaired too. I was replumbed to the right place. And I managed to resume my role as a Engineering Specialist for the company that make big yellow construction equipment, not JCB.
So I will always feel a bond to the Storm

Sad history with a good ending.
As the old cliche goes: One chapter ends and another begins. All the best to you!

You just never know what life has in store for you, probably just as well we don't.
Long may your good health continue,
Chris.
