I know, I know but after a couple of hours my knees are killing me! In fact I notice it more now that I have put the flat bars on. I also think my butt does too. That can be cured with a gel pad or insert, oh yeah!!!! , but what about the knees???

But yes you can get lower pegs (about an inch or two) - gear lever has adjustment to suit but rear brake lever not so - so foot has to be raised before brake can be applied.

Yup. I bought some Chinese adjustable front pegs about 4yrs ago.
Can't really fault them. They adjust in 8 positions.
Imagine a clock face

12....... 25mm upwards
3......... 25mm forwards
6..........25mn downward
9..........25mm backwards

1.30...... 12.5mm upwards/forwards
4.30...... 12.5mm downwards/forwards
7.30...... 12.5mm downwards/backwards
10.30.... 12.5mm upwards/backwards

At the 6 o'clock position its a 25mm drop.
Which is reverses at 12 o'clock to a 25mm raise.
I use mine at the 7.30 position. Because of my size 12 plates of meat
The only negatives I found were. It makes using the rear brake pedal more of a hassle.
And at a good lean angle I can grind the end of the pegs on the tarmac.
But for long distance riding they're great.
They can handle my considerable weight with no problems.
Iirc they cost about £40

Nothing to do with being a pussy. The 'knee down' seems to be (in some circles) a right-of-passage for entry into the books of greatness. Probably anyone can do it with the right tyres, body positioning, and road/track surface, BUT there seems to be so much emphasis on this as a 'bragging right' second only to chicken strips on tyres!

Not being a stick in the mud here at all, because I enjoy high speed cornering and 'severe' lean angles, BUT I really hate the inference by some that because we don't have scrapes on knee sliders or bang on about bashing our knee on a kerb or roundabout, we are somehow an inferior rider!

So, sorry to partly derail this thread, but we now have a discussion topic for a few hours!

it was 6 yrs ago, bike was almost undamaged [scuff on the carbon clutch cover protector, scuff on front edge of std exhaust (only fitted to get through the track noise limits) and wore through the slider on the end of the bars]. I was undamaged too. I had picked the bike up and only lost about 30 seconds on my lap time and best still none of my mates knew it happened as I was up and away before they got there

but then I discovered the track side photographer had seen the front end tucking under and caught the whole crash sequence, so I had to admit my fail!

was disgusted to discover that if you wear through the yellow paint the plastic is black underneath...... i nearly sold the bike
