Hello world, figured I'd post the tinkering I'm doing to my firestorm online for future reference.
So long story short, had quite a few motorbikes over the past 15 years, 95% of it Honda, last one before the VTR was a silverwing (the maxi scooter one) because I wanted to tick it off the list, not the most exciting bike, the storage space was amazing though.
Sold it, bit impulsive actually, decided to look for a big 90deg V-twin as I never had one of those.
Drove a Falco, couldn't really get along with the ergonomics of it, drove a VTR later that day, liked it a lot better, bought it, yaay, happy.
So the specs:
1997 VTR, red, 48000km, I'm the 3rd owner, bone stock apart from the front indicators and rear hugger.
So this was 1300EUR, although, fair enough, the head stock bearings were gone.
As it was a bit cheaper than what I've sold the Silverwing for I had a modification budget, still had a speeduino ECU lying around that I never got to use for anything and I don't really like carbs (well, I hate them for various reasons)
I'll create a seperate topic for all the mods though.

I think I'll do the stopper mod, it probably won't blow it's guts if it fails and it keeps the tensioner working more or less like it should.alanfjones1411 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 9:54 am Hello and welcome to the forum.Change them auto tensioners for manuals asap for your own peace of mind.

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
