Al, does the route include that road we did 3 years ago along the river?

Morning all, re the location, if you look on the satalite pic on the map link you will see two turnings to the right that take you to the bunk house...

The location marker for that link/postcode is smack bang in the middle of a farm yard. There are two turnings to the right, the first one takes you through the farm yard, so probaly not the best option even if it is correct accordig to your Prat Nav's...

The second turning is probably the correct one & as a guide there is a large phone mast so should be easy to spot even in the dark.

The lane down to the block looks a bit iffy but it can't be any worse than the one into the previous bunkhouse...

I just hope the beds are better... I really didn't like trying to sleep on bare springs last year...

Question on tyres.

I got my bike out the garage to check it over today and my back tyre was flat as a fart, front was about 14 psi.

I had the rear fitted a couple of months ago for MOT and I think I've ridden bike once since then. Otherwise been sitting in my garage the last 3 or 4 weeks.

Do you reckon that going flat like that is normal, and pumped up and used they'll be fine, or should I be looking to get a pair fitted urgently ahead of this trip?

shouldn't go flat in 3 weeks, need to check for a leak or a puncture.

you should NOT need a new tyre, but it might be worth getting a tyre place to take it off and check the bead and valave

Balls... I'm away in London from tomorrow. I'll have to try and take it Friday morning.

I've pumped up to 42 just now. If it holds that until I'm back from London on Thursday, would you say it's worth risking it?

You could take a pump and some tyre slime, that should see you through, but your tyre fitter will hate you forever if it ruins his trainers when you eventually get it replaced.

there was a typo in my reply. you should NOT need a new tyre

for me... if it was still holding pressure (anything above 30) when you get home, then I would pump it up and ride it. if its gone too low in 2 days then tyre fitter to look for leaks
