Merry Christmas to you all, hope u had a nice day yesterday.
Right I'm having a bit of an issue with my charging voltages.
Iv currently fitted a new battery and also changed the rectifier to a mosfet type from r1/r6/Fjr1300.
I'm getting figures of 15.2v at idle and rise to 15.4v at high revs.
I have made my own loom using the 3 yellows direct from the stator / oe wiring, red wire straight to positive of the battery from the r/r via a 40a maxi fuse and the green from the r/r to the negative terminal of the battery.
Could these voltages be too high to cook the battery as iv read in the auto data book that 15.5v @ 5000rpm is ideal.
Please help and thanks in advance
Charging issues
Re: Charging issues
Anything above 15V would be a tad excessive

What's the FH serial on the R/R? (FH001?) is it a genuine one or a cheap Chinese copy?
Also is the multimeter reading accurately? Try another for a second check measure.

The reg rec is a Fh012aa which I purchased off ebay but its a copy.
Iv grabbed another multimeter from work just now so I'm gonna test it again tomorrow

"but its a copy."
If a Chinese dodgy copy then you're likely worse off than before you started.
Consider this FH020

Il hold out from the copies then and get hold of that then. Christmas has crippled me this year especially with lockdown shorting me days with work so money is tight too lol.
