tire rubber dust on swingarm chain and rear sprocket
Hi guys I got this problem since months maybe this is a good place to ask.
every time I clean the bike and oil the chain after a ride I found a LOT of tire rubber on the swing arm the sprocket and the chain. wha is ? why?
Does this rubber come from my rear tire or is it collected by the road ? sorry for the insane question but I'm going crazy, this thing never happen before on any of my bikes.
cheers

What width rear tyre is fitted?
Have you checked the rear wheel bearings (inc sprocket carrier) and lastly, is a hugger (if you have one fitted) moving and touching the tyre?

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

it's a 180/55 Michelin road 4
All the bearings are ok (by touch) the are no signs on the tire of touching hugger or anything, rear tire is aligned and inflated correcly, I't doesn't seems to have odd wearing on it. I'm staring to think that this rubber is attracted by the chain oil from the road or something similar
sorry for my English

Maybe a daft question but are you sure that it's rubber?
I'm thinking that maybe the rubber dust is actually plastic from a worn down chain slider?
Best of luck, Martin

Ok, how about the noise dampening rubber from a front sprocket? Otherwise, rear wheel drive rubbers breaking down?

Have you got a hugger fitted? If it's a tight fit the the tyre could be rubbing.

only the standard small mudguard near the shock, I'll try to remove it, maybe it could solve this strange thingfreeridenick wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 10:26 am Have you got a hugger fitted? If it's a tight fit the the tyre could be rubbing.

Can you post some pictures?
An overly lubed, dirty chain can throw up crud that can look a little like bits of rubber.

No bike (yet).

To be fair, if o-rings break up they don't crumb, they just split at one point and are thrown off leaving a rattly chain.
Have you had a chance to check the cush drive rubbers yet?
