Is there a brace inside the mudguard?
There usually is.
How to install a fork brace.
Re: How to install a fork brace.
No there is no brace on the stock front end.
Loud pipes don't save lives, knowing how to ride your bike will save your life.
Re: How to install a fork brace.
Fair enough.
Had my 4th ride today;due to a bit of a flat spot/hunting around 3/4K revs,riding a bit hard,braking a bit hard.
Front end feels ok,but will look into a brace.

Well it has only taken me 10 years to take the photos, but I'm a man of my word, so here we go...Jamoi wrote:I'll be putting my front end back on (with brace) in the next couple of months, I'll also be following your guide Hawk![]()
I know it doesn't help if you need pics sooner, but I can take photos as I go?

The only tips I would add:
Give your stantions a good clean and polish before moving the fork legs through their stroke.
Loosen the fork brace central bolts, so the middle part is loose, tighten the outer clamps on to the fork legs, then tighten up the central brace bolts last. Before finally checking the free up/down fork stroke. This allows the brace to find its own natural width before tightening up the central bolts.
In my case, my axle didn't insert easily, so I loosened the clamp pinch bolts enough to move the fork leg about a fag paper, until my axle could be inserted easily.
*Updated images to show the brace fitted the correct way round - I wanted to try it the other way, but in the interest of not misleading forum members, the pics are now correct*

Great photos Jamie
I bookmarked this page as I bought a coerce fork brace last year on impulse but never got round to fitting it
Cheers

Jamie, in my OCD head, you have fitted the brace in the wrong way round. The Coerce lettering should be at the back!

I used to have it the other way round, I just thought I'd try it this way roundAMCQ46 wrote:Jamie, in my OCD head, you have fitted the brace in the wrong way round. The Coerce lettering should be at the back!

**I'll flip it around and update the pics above**
Any reason you can think of, that I can't have it with "Coerce" at the front?
