The last thread hijack was in 2013 so Im not sure that you are all doing this.
So since we're going off topic lets go way off topic, I'll come and check this tomorrow to see if anyone replied. There's a lot of local bike clubs in my area and these are regular old clubs not the 1%er kind.
I was trying to join a club that will remain nameless and they asked me to consent to a background check that I have to pay for. On top of that, I spoke to a buddy of mine (who's a member) and he said they never did that to him. I have no idea why this would be needed. I read on this website www.backgroundcheckrepair.org/ that it's normal for a lot of organizations to run background checks on their members but I can't imagine why it would be a requirement here and quite frankly I've never heard of this for a bike club.
What I think is going on is that the guy I spoke to for whatever reason doesn't like me. I have no idea what I could have done to offend him, I've even offered to buy his drinks in the past.
I guess I would like to know if any of you have experienced anything like this. Again, this isn't a hardcore 1%er club this is literally a bunch of dads and uncles that ride on weekends...
