So in my on going tinkering I'm thinking of cutting my old type akra cans down just a little. I fully understand the benefits of long cans on storms but would like a more modern look without sacrificing performance, I'm thinking of around 50 to 70mm off at the mo there 430mm.
Anyone with tuning experience got any thoughts perhaps you could help fabio you know the journey I've had with exhausts since getting it tuned I think.
I realy cant be doing more dyno runs ,would 70mm effect performance? Anyway thanks for any advice.

Re: Cutting cans
One issue is the Akra cans are getting pretty rare and are actually worth quite a bit. So you would be throwing a bit of cash away. I have seen the Akra replacement sleeves going for around $1000 US each. So you might want to get something else before you start cutting.
Loud pipes don't save lives, knowing how to ride your bike will save your life.
Re: Cutting cans
Advice ? I think Akra know abit about making them that length in the first place.
Prob with playing with differnt lengths & mutiple dyno runs to get it right.
Leave the cutting dics in the tool box.
Want a different look ? Buy differnt cans.

Re: Cutting cans
For looks if you fancy a shorter can, i would buy a cheap set and chop those instead..
to chop a set of Akra cans is a bit like chopping 4 inches of your weener to see what it looks like
