I have had a busy week with bands as I work towards my goal of seeing 60 bands in my 60th year.
Sunday I went into Birmingham to see Brass Against playing. But No repeat of the pissing on an audience member that brought the Internet fury to the lead singers door last year and caused them to cancel their original tour dates in the UK.,
Wednesday was off to Glasgow playing easy jet roulette to see if we could get to the Green Day Gig we bought tickets for 4 years ago. Result, easy jet didn't cancel our flights and we made it, but in our excitement at being in Glasgow we underestimated the time to get from the City centre out to Bellahoustn park, so we missed Amyl & the sniffers who were added as an extra support act. I am a big fan of the basic Punk / thrash / Pop that Amy and her band do, so I had already been up to Manchester to seen them 3 weeks before, but I would have liked to see her play to the huge crowd that were there for Green day.
After failing to get any taxi to take us to the gig, we went for the subway train and based on the well proven logic of " when in Rome, do as the Romans" ........ We were drinking Buckfast out of the bottle on the train to merge in with the locals![]()

Caught the other support bands of Weeezer and Fall out Boy who were both good, and then Green Day was even better than I expected. A good mosh was enjoyed![]()
Fly home Thursday, again with no cancellations, and get the van loaded for Sign of The times festival on the Friday and Saturday. This is all my punk and new wave favourites, so we were watching....... The Farm, The Skids, Pop Will eat its self, Glasvagas, UB40 on the Friday. Then on Sunday Dr Feelgood, Spear of Desitiny, Hugh Cornwall (of the stranglers), the undertones, the beat, Boomtown Rats and New Model Army on Saturday...
Time for a rest now![]()
