Carb strip and rebuild

Hi guys,

Doing my first carb strip down and rebuild following the cracking detailed instructable from here, but like a massive rock wombling helmet I yanked the needle a little too keenly and before I knew it, something went ping across the garage!!! Thinking it must’ve been a ghost I thought nothing of it and went and did it again on the other pissing needle!!

So having researched the hell out of the assembly, it looks like I’ve either lost the top washer or an e clip.

My question is this, I have a bag of washers the exact same size as the bottom one from the assembly (pictures included for reference) so I have all I need to get it back together and working? What’s missing from the photo supplied? If I do need the e-clip, where can I get a replacement from?

No e-clip used with stock needles just 1 .5mm washer under each needle So the washers you have should be fine.

Ah brilliant, just measured the washers I’ve got and they’re 0.61mm.

Will that have affect it too much?

Also does anyone know if I can get a replacement for the choke cable ‘connector’, ideally a metal one as I’ve just found the reason my choke isn’t great, the thread has snapped halfway.
