VTR1000 Rat/naked
My trusty naked firestorm is for sale, around 36000 on the clocks when I removed them to convert it a month or so ago. Runs nicely and is very pokey. Gearing has been lowered a bit but will still comfortably do over 140mph on a private road and cruise nicely. Cosmetically it is what it is, it has cuts and cable ties, writing, and marks all over it, was going to paint it matt black and still have a couple of cans you can have with it if you want them. Art exhausts which are really loud, forks rebuilt recently and oil and filter this month. It has a CNC top yokes conversion which in itself is worth a fair but. The bars are steel and came off a friends bobber project, they weight a fair bit and the chrome is rusty but they suit the bike. Got plenty of MOT left.
Issues are as follows:
No clocks or Speedo, I always used my phone for GPS speed.
The front sprocket cover needs removing and cleaning out as the buildup of previous owners chain crud has started to escape and drips/blobs out every now and then.
The carbs probably want tweeking at some point to get it spot on running wise, although it does run very nicely and pull well, and always starts well.
No history or spare key
Datatool (I think) alarm/immobiliser, makes no noise but flashes the indicators if set off. Fob works fine, as does the immobiliser.
Bloody noisy
Does too many wheelies
And finally, it has track oriented tyres on it. Not much life left on the rear and they don't suit everyone's riding style and do need to be respected in poor conditions
It's sold as seen, so viewing and a test ride (with the cash in my hand) is recommended, if you bin it, you've bought it.
If you are buying it for some cheap lairy fun you won't be disappointed.
