MOT looming - Tuesday.
Everything works now except the passing switch. I’ve taken the left gear apart - the actual switch works but then two wires (Black/Red and Blue) go into the main light switch, where the signal is not passed on. Possibly a dry or corroded joint in there. Hard to get to.
I assume this is an MOT failure as it’s fitted but doesn’t work.
Can I take it out? Just for now. Blank off the hole with tape. To buy more time to fix properly afterwards.
I’m thinking that the function of main beam is still available on the thumb switch, but I don’t have time really to get too deep on this.

Re: Passing Switch for MOT
I'd have guessed it would fail without a flash for main beam but I can't see that in the regs now I've read them. They just talk about main and dip beam, alignment and switching. The regs are on gov.uk so have a read yourself and make sure.

Re: Passing Switch for MOT
As Nick did I also had a look online for info on this, it seems to be one of those things that will be down to the mot tester. Apart from phoning your mot tester which would best the best option, I would blank that switch off as you suggested if your are positive the main beam and dip are functioning correctly without the passing switch,

** UPDATE **
I’ve mended it. What a mission?
Took me all day. It was a trapped wire deep inside the switch gear.
Now back to the tuning issues.
Thanks for all responses on this one.
