Bloody hell it's noisy

Post by GnR9 »

Not long got another storm and as the title says my christ it's noisy. It's stubby high rise cans but no name.
I think think it's loud enough to get stopped or maybe not. I feel I might need ear plugs but can't wear them. It'll certainly get me noticed etc but hopefully not from plod.

I'm looking for other ones even standard. The only other bit I'll change is the bars as someone before me as put them under the yoke and when you're full lock you're touching the fairing.

Apart from that it seems fine, I had one years ago but standard and wanted it noisier. Now I've got another and it's too bloody noisy 😄🙄

If you want to have some hearing left & not have tinnitus I'd suggest you start wearing ear plugs ASAP.

Even the wind noise can cause these issues not just loud pipes...

My go to is Pinlock ones... Plenty of sellers but your looking at £20 ish for a set of 4... They come with 2 sizes in a pack. They are more comfortable than the foam ones IMO.

Re your pipes... Your first option is get some baffles...Still too loud ? Then its different cans...
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...

I've got tinnitus (sp) in the right ear due to hereditary but in the last few years a bloody Arai didn't help. Good helmets but sh1t for quietness.
I tried them (ear plugs) different kinds but just don't like thing in my ears plus made me disoriented and odd because I couldn't hear right. I know what you're saying though believe me.

As for the cans, there's no name etc on them I'd need to drill the rivets and either re pack or put some in or just get others.

They'll certainly get me noticed good or bad.

Storms as a rule run better with longer cans on, you could try getting a set of cheap ebay DB killers and just drill the outlet on the pipe and fit them.
the older i get,the faster i was

Have a look at some of the music orientated ear plugs. They tend to offer different levels of protection, lower than the foam ones, so you should find a set that take 10dB to 18dB off but still allow you to hear stuff. ACS are custom fitted and the inserts are 10dB to 28dB. Expensive mind. Loop offer several different levels too and are loads cheaper. Not custom moulded but the 18dB ones have loads of different inserts.

I’ve got a set of viper alloy full length cans and link pipes for sale if you’re interested. They’re in good condition and not too loud just a nice burble.
