HI all VTR Fans
I have a VTR of sorts - a number of boxes of parts that I have assembled over the last year or so. I wanted to build a custom VTR as a project hence the boxes of bits
I have an engine that's looks to be in good shape - not had it running but it came out of a bike that had only done 13k. At the moment I'm cleaning and painting areas before it goes into the frame.
My first question - Can the carbs be fitted to the engine before fitting in the frame ?
My second question relates to the wiring loom, does this need to routed in any way before the frame is dropped over the engine and secured ?
Thanks in advance - basic questions but I thought it worth asking to this forum as guidance

Fitting carbs first might be possible, but routing the coolant pipes afterwards would be very tricky- same with the harness.
You can certainly fit the head to carb rubbers before installing the engine, but tbh fitting the carbs is simple and quick- just push them on and tighten the clamps.
So I'm not sure what you'd save, either in terms of time or effort, by doing so.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Loom can be fitted after the engine is mounted.
Only real tricky bit is feeding it through the rear past sub frame & battery box but if they are not on no worries.
