Turns out, none of us can remember how to play pool.
We still spent most of a flatulent evening trying to remember how to, though.

Bonus:
The barman gave me a Blue Light discount on a round of drinks!
Result😁

We met Sirch on his Storm in Padstow.
It turns out that he's not just an AI-generated avatar, but is real and rides a Storm.
Alright, it's a red one, but even so, it was good to meet him at long last.

So that’s the 1st OP storm of the year successfully completed, and all the participants are home safe and sound.

My total mileage from Friday morning set off till Monday return home was 620milws, but Jonsey eclipsed that with a whopping 932……. I think he will have a sore ar$se

Fewer joined than usual, but for the 7 of us who turned up, we still had a great few days. As well as 2 days riding some cracking roads we had 3 night of talking complete bollox and laughing our heads off.

2 of the 6 bikes were Storms so that is a good ratio these days, and we got to meet up with our very own forum moderator Sirch on Sunday lunchtime, so for that hour in Padstow there was 3 storms

As well as doing all the chalet bookings, arranging a meet up with Sirch, Superstar MacV2 had also spoken to Popkat wife Sue, and she had agreed to come and meet us on Sunday night for supper. So we drank a few in his memory, and Sue was happy that he is still in our thoughts.

Photo dump off the what’s app group, although I haven’t included the Bristol Stool rating chart which kept us entertained for far too long.

Tony bought this hi vis for me after I told him about my sister-in-law calling them “dinnie knock me doon jackets “

I suggested the back market wore it so they could be recognised, but they said no, so I wore it as leader.

On the way to Padstow we stopped for a piss and the unreliable Honda refused to start.
Tightened the battery terminals and all was good

Grim and grey When we left on Monday morning. I think we all hit light rain on our different routes but ever enough to put on waterproofs

DS Day -1.

So Thursday was prep & pack day.

Nue Red was the chosen steed for the weekend.

Tyres PSI check, chain tension check, Scotoiler filled up & metering checked, it need to be running for this & started fine several times. Oil level checked.

Luggage strapped on & put to bed for the night...

DS Day.

So up bright & early quick shower & some pre ride munch.

Dragged Nue Red out from it's slumber, kitted up, locked the garage & the house.

Would the fecker start...

Quick decision to swap bikes... Oh how you mock me for having more that one Storm...

So unlock everything drag out The Murvinator swap the luggage over & strap it down, had to swap contents of the tank bag, mag one on Nue Red, The Murvinator has a baglux on it....

So put Nue Red back to bed having shamed it quite a bit. Locked back up, kit back on & off we go with no prep & fingers metaphorically crossed.

I got to Clackets which was meeting point for the only person joining me for the ride down.

Jones who had been working all day & most of the night... He was just about on time.

Anyway off we set first stop Reding services.

Image

Bin in the background natch .

Next stop Gordano & meet up with the Briztools & Midlands Mafia... For a spot of lunch before the final stint to the Ho!

I shot down to the office to get the keys, the back to the chalets where Mr & Mrs Mons were already waiting.

Image

Tony had put the cover over his bike as it was due to rain a bit overnight has to keep the Ape dry.

I went shopping with Jones & Graham, Tony had done a beer run the previous day so had got some orders in for the others. & was cooking as well for the Friday munch.

I didn't fancy the kind offer of Spicy bean & sausage stew as my delicate guts wouldn't appreciate it... Jugging by the following winds I think I made the right call...

After grub off down the Pier House for drinks & badly played pool...& much General Boll acks as per the norm.

End of DS Day.

DS Day +1

Saturday morning...

Some adjustments to Jones rearsets ( this may have been done the previous eve but I forgot.)

Image

Any way what would a Storm meet be without a mechanical hiccup...?

1st of the weekend Tonys Ape didn't want to play & needed a jump start. His electrical woes carried on. I'm sure he'll elaborate at some point.

So off we set for a North route, Nice hoon did around 140 miles on the day...

Pit stop for a bite...

Image

Image

Some time later another pit stop...

Image

& finally a stop in Lynmouth for an ice cream...

Image

Before heading back to Ho!

For you guessed it more beer & gen Boll acks & £70 worth of Chinese takeaway delivered to the chalets.

Of course taking the orders & getting paid was like herding cats

Backdown to the Pier House for more drinks... Back to the chalets where Tony broke the Port out...

I'd had enough so hit the sack...

DS Day +2.

Sunday. Grey & overcast with some light drizzle which was supposed to clear up after 10...yeah right...

Pete & Graham left us as Pete had a work thing to get to on Monday morning & had a flight to catch...

The normal brekie at the local café, fortified with bacon & eggs we set off heading to Padstow To meet up with Sirch. Yes the elusive Mr Sirch of moderating fame on this very forum.

So the route was planed to get us there for 13.00 as was the arranged meet up.

All going well until Al realised he hadn't reversed the route in his Prat Nav.

So an unplanned pit stop which was handy as it gave us a chance to stretch our legs & empty bladders.

Of course it all went a bit Pete Tong when Jones bike threw a random fit & wouldn't start.

Much swearing & rear end plastics removal to check fuses only to find the culprit was a lose battery connection DOH....

Anyway off we went to Padstow in the continuing mizzel...

Image
The Storms all RED the best colour natch

Image

The whole motley crew thanks to a random stranger taking the pic.

It was also at this point of proceedings it was noted that The Murvinator was a bit smoky on checking back at the chalets there was no oil showing in the sight glass. No Oil light so I wasn't that bothered sort it out in the morning.

Any way after a bit of grub. Off we went back to the digs & another 150 ish damp but fun miles.

The last night was a meal at the Pier House where we were joined by Su & Kiera Sampson.

Far too much food & a wobble back to the chalets for the last night.

DS Day +3

Last day get sorted ready to check out , took the keys back & booked for next year. Bikes loaded up . Man hugs for those not to be seen possibly until September & the Wales meet.

Me & Jones head to Barnstable to find a Halfrauds & some oil, The Murvinator had a wee dram of just over a ltr & off we set homeward bound.

We had decided to go the 303 route to cut out the M way shlep traffic was a bit shite in places due to road works. Very nearly went very wrong due to a pair of Range Rovers... One was turning off to the right & the second one decided to stop rather sharpish even thought there appeared to be room... Both me & Jones had to stop a bit sharpish. Of course Mr RR who stopped blamed us & gave Jones the verbal's...

At our final stop before parting ways...

Image

Malc caught some Flies...

Image

So it started off

Image

& ended up 835 miles later...

Image

Thanks all for making it a fantastic weekend despite the drizzle & the puns & the often repeated stories...

You need some new material Mons... Oh hang on on second thoughts...
