Thanks for that, Mac.
Yes, the Aprilia sulked and refused to start on the Saturday morning. It ran perfectly when I loaded it into the van Thursday evening, of course...

Once we jump started it with the jump leads I had in the van, it was fine.

For about ten miles.... It then refused to start, but I tried pulling the clutch lever in and it fired up straight away. However, it refused to indicate which gear it was in, and the electronics decided that the best thing to do was to turn off the traction control, abs, and all of the other safety nets I usually rely on, and I also lost the up and down quick shifter.
So I went back to riding an analog bike for a couple of days- at least I had full power. Which made it all the more interesting when it was damp and drizzly on Sunday.

A few pics:

I'm staying in Devon for the rest of the week, a night in Ilfracombe then five nights in Torquay.
The Tuono is locked in the back of the van being ignored until I get home and plug in the diagnostic laptop and give it a stern talking to. (and probably another expensive part).
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Always a Brides maid, never a Bride.
Fear not you two. Sometimes it's worth not getting picked up.
The copper probably didn't want to crack his camera lens on your ugly mugs
