Wanted: RH Footrest hanger

Post by MrMastodon »

After a very distressing incident involving balancing the bike upright, then turning to wave to the missus and daughter who just arrived back in the car and letting go of the bike, I've found myself in need of a new right hand footrest hanger, the back brake side.

It's still there but quite bent, not sure whether to try and bend it back.

Ta!

Is it just the pedal ? Or has the hanger itself bent...

Got loads of left hand ones... hahaha.

not sure if there is a R/H in stock but I know I have a pedal if that's all you need...

Its the whole hanger bit I’m afraid, but thanks for looking though, much appreciated. I’ll check if the brake lever itself is bent later though, it might well be.

Might try bending the hanger back into shape but worried it’ll break leaving me with no VTR to ride which wouldn’t be a good thing.

I'll have a look in the spares haul to see if I have a R/H hanger...

They are cast ally so don't do well with bending, You'll need to give it a real close inspection to see if it has any cracks.

Having a look means moving 8 bikes out so don't hold your breath...

Yeah, just been and looked and there is a sizeable crack that I'm sure wasn't there on the day of the 'the incident'. Might not have looked very hard though, pretending it's not happening.

Appreciate your effort in looking, doesn't seem to be any around on eBay - but only when you can face moving the bikes

If you can't source a good one then the casting can be welded without problems.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I do have one almost all there ...

Slave cylinder, break light switch, pedal & springs, footrest & res pot but no lid...

It needs a proper good clean !

£55 posted but if you want Slave cylinder, break light switch, footrest & res pot but removed £50 posted.
