Valve Clearance check.

Post by SlingVTR »

Boys, just spent 2k on my Stormy and now eating beans on toast for most meals. Its come to the time to stop spending......but having been quoted 500 quid for the valve clearance check from 2 quacks, sorry garages im slightly bemused. I still have a weepy carb to do as well. Is there anyone or a workshop day where i can get a little help? Just thought id ask, a pensioner in need. Cant rent out my dogs ass anymore hes walking like John Wayne at the moment.

Recently did mine for the first time on one of my bikes. Admittedly I had the help of someone who knew what he was doing.

The actual valve checking is not that hard if a little confusing.

The hardest part is stripping it all down to get to the valve covers, however for me that's something I've done loads of times for CCT swaps.

There's probably someone nearer to than I am, who can help.
Making up since 2007, sometimes it's true...Honest...
