are the firestorm rims clear coated?
I need to respray them, just found the right colour...I mean does honda coat them in general? sorry for the weird question

IIRC the Firestorm rims (wheels) were painted when they left the factory, but were not clear coated (lacquered) on top of the paint, although they could have done with it,

Worth doing. I have used 2K clear coat (satin finish) out of a spray can on rims. The harder finish of the 2K formula protects quite well. Keep in mind that the spray can, once activated, has a time window before hardening in the can.

Personally, I have had good results from powder coating. But in either case make sure you blank off the disc mounting surfaces.
If, by any chance, you chip powder coating then a blob of hammerite fills and seals nicely, which you can't do on a paint finish.
