Phil, Also keep a look out for Ventura Luggage system. you need bike specific mounting rails then you fit a removable A frame on which you fit a 50L bag over the hoop of the A frame, plus there is an option to zip a 2nd 50L bag which will sit on the pillion seat.
they are very well made, very stable, keep the weight where the pillion would sit and are easy to remove.

if I find a photo of my set up I will post it, and if you haven't got anything sorted before Spain , I will loan you (not sell!) you mine
