Someone tried to steal my bike this week and I'm wondering how to fix this. Don't worry about the police report and DMV stuff regarding the theft, just looking for mechanical help. First image is my ignition (now gone), second image is just for context.

1998 VTR1000 - how do I fix this?
Re: 1998 VTR1000 - how do I fix this?
Ignition sets are easily found. Ebay has aftermarket ones & genuine OEM ones came up as well
Ideally you want a full set with one key fits all If you just replace the Ignition you'll have one key for that & a separate key for the tank & seat.
The ignition is held on by shear bolts as standard which can be a pita to get out but doable, You'll need to take the yoke off.
The rear end is just cut down either replace the full std undertray or live with it plenty of it left to fit a plate.
Your location would help someone local might have the bits you need.
