Today I have mostly been swapping wheels, discs and tyres.
Supercorsa 3's for scrubbing in ready for Devon.
Black wheels for a change, they're no lighter than the original orange but they came with new Brembo discs fitted and the tyres, so on they went.

Annoyingly, the rear caliper's brake pad pin was seized in place so I had to separate the caliper halves to get it to budge, so the brake works but needs bleeding. Which can be done at Mac's bacon and workshop day tomorrow, as I have a new bottle in stock.
Aprilia, for reasons best known to themselves, place the bleed nipple at the bottom of the underslung caliper, so it has to be removed and hung above the reservoir to bleed it.

Can't complain, though; the bike's 5years old and 20k and these are the first rear pads it's needed.

I didn't bleed the rear caliper at Mac's today.
I had the tools needed and a new litre of fluid, but, on reflection, given that air can travel into the abs module, which is served by both front and rear brakes, I didn't want to risk air in the front brakes on the way home.
I'll look up a how-to and sort it this week sometime.

Loving the nice smooth front brakes, though👍

Good thinking Tony, otherwise it could have been a Deja Vu moment of possibly needing a lift home

I had a good ride-out on the Firestorm this morning 8) 8)

Crackin' weather again :Woohoo1: :Woohoo1:

The only thing that spoiled two of my favourites bits of roads were tailbacks and Stop and Go boards. One caused by a cyclist, and the other by subbies or Council workers who decided it a good idea to clean out some gullies/drains on a Sunday morning 8O
So next time I must leave home earlier

Hi Chris, I have been trying to sell it for over a year now as service prices are ridiculous and the 5 year belt change is anything from £800-£1,000 and I was paranoid it was going to go wrong. Last week I decided to fit new tyres for Devon and see if I had a change of heart. Then Friday at 07:00 I received a message from a guy in Derbyshire who wanted to collect it today.
I then had the dilemma of what to get next that was reliable and without all the electronics, I then stumbled along to the CBF and it was only 5 miles from me.
I bed the Ducati tyres in Saturday at Grainstorm, then looked at the Honda yesterday.
As soon as I saw the condition with all the history and extras a deal was done ImageImage

Hi Duffy, very good of you to give me an explanation

I most definitely get where you are coming from regarding the costly services charges, plus the added cost for the belt changes 8O

Also the electronics side of things, as you say can be really expensive if there is a problem. As much as it must be amazing to have such luxuries, they all come at a price. One of the reason's I like my Storm so much, not too many electronic extra's.

It's amazing how quick things can turn around as in your situation when a buyer wants your bike. Glad it has all worked out for you, enjoy your new bike   No more timing belts to worry about

It's a Honda. I'm sure there'll be a CCT to think about at some time
