Thanks for the welcome guys....

However a problem has developed......
Was sorting insurance out and queried why the bike had no HISS security (everything I read was that this was fitted as standard after 2001).

Rang Honda UK and they said that they had no record of a Firestorm with that reg plate. Serious alarm bells start ringing. Shocked
Get the frame number and engine number and go back to them. The bike was first registered in the UK in 03 (HPI agrees with this) but Honda UK have said that it is a 2000 model, originally imported into Spain.
The engine & frame numbers match Honda UK's records and match the HPI report (which says that the bike was made in 2003), but the bike is defintely a 2000 model.

So, I can get a full refund (bike bought from a main Honda dealer) or keep it at the price I paid (£3.1K)

That means I could have a mint (and I really mean mint) 2000 Firestorm with 10K on the clocks. Or I could get a full refund......

Am seriously p*ssed off at this stage....

Any advice???

Sounds like a dodgy dealer to me, the 2003 model will have the digi clocks and black brake calipers, adn a bigger fuel tank. Not sure that was ever a UK colour either.

Take it back and get your money back. The bike is probably slighty overpriced anyway.

There are loads of nice bikes out there, i just sold my 2003 with ohlins rear and carbon cans et al for just under £4k. You sould be ablt to get a standard 2003 with no mods for no more than £3500

Definatly take it back. Dealer is taking the piss.
It's here.........

If I remember rightly
there where a lot of earlier bikes which didn't sell so they were held back, so to speak, and then imported here to be moved on at a later date. I think you've been caught with one of those. Nothing wrong with the bike but not the model you were hoping for
I'd see if they will either do something with the price or tell them they've sold it to you under false pretense and you want a refund

FWIW, now that the money is back in my sweaty hands....the dealer in question was Blackpool Honda. To be fair, once i raised the issue, they offered a refund there and then. I have noticed that it is still listed as a 2003 bike on their webpage though....... (Reg number PJ03 UDU).

Anyway...today I have bought a 04 'Storm in really good condition for £3.2K....BTW it is RED (the best colour according to those with discerning tastes :P :P )
