decent workshop in WIlts / M4 corridor

Post by JohnnyB »

Hi,
My 'Storm is now due for its 24k service. I usually do my own servicing but this will the storms 1st since I've owned it and Haven't got Paddock stand or workshop manual sorted yet.
Anyone reccomend a decent dealer / workshop in North Wilts? The bike has previously been serviced by Abingdon Honda, bit out of my way but will take it up there if anyone has good tales to tell?

Thanks All

Hi Chaz, will do.
Not heard the greatest things about Taylors (Chippneham or Calne). know a guy with an SP1 who uses Geroge Whites in swindon and rates them, but I suspect he got well looked after as they used to sponsor his race bike...

Taylors in chip were useless when my son had problems with his bandit, they told us to go to Whites who helped and sorted, taylors wont even do mot's only tuesday pm (only if you bought the bike from them).
Calne only just seem to keep going,
Steve Lynham in Swindon (near Honda) allways have a lot outside, Whites seem to have the market, Artdeans not fussed on taking p/x bikes if you pressure them they offer you about half the value as they have to service it and allow customer room for bartering!!
If you have a Harley, Riders in Bristol have a good reputation, so dosnt seem like a lot about. couple of one-man -bands but would you risk a storm or blade with them>?

Do you know any coppers??

I live up sunny north but get my bike serviced by police mechanic, honda trained and a lot cheaper than local honda dealer. Only problem is bike has to be legal and taxed when he has it in the station.

I bought a couple of bikes (including my Storm) from George Whites. They've done a few services for me over the years (although I do my own now). I've never had a problem with them, but you'll pay!

Always take my bikes to Steve Lynham for MOTs, but never had any work done by him.

Another for George White in Swindon. I have a mate (with an FZ1) who's always going on about how good they are and he wouldn't give his bike to just anybody.

as an update for anyone interested..
George White's has moved to Elgin from Manchester Road and Taylors Triumph and Suzuki dealerships in Swindon and Chippenham have both folded.
