Hello - I have 'inherited' a red P-Reg standard VTR1000.
It is curently sitting in my shed, as its owner is in Cairo/Denmark.
Just saying hello

Thanks all
Update - mate emailed me today, said that I can use the bike if I want. So I went on ebike's site and had a look at their 'Pay as You Go' insurance, where you pay a month at a time and can suspend/resume when you like - perfect for my situation. £25 p/mth.
So very tempted, but weather is putting me off at the moment - will probably wait until the spring.

EEk - that ain't good.
Shame, as the per month policy seemed perfect for me.
Makes me think. A 12 month policy probably better then. Only about £2-300 for a year anyway.
The good thing on ebike, is that they only ask for claims/thefts over the last 3 years and I had two bikes nicked in the first half of 2003.
I think most companies ask for claims/convictions over 5.
Oh well
Thanks for that anyway SD/VTRKaz

not on the pay as you go scheme though.
Ebike do seem to be giving the best quotes for a lot of people at the mo... I saved about £80 with them.... saved about £150 by insuring the impreza with Ecar too.
Exactly, that's why you went with them in the first place, because they gave the best quote

I am still very tempted to go with their Pay as you Go scheme.
But, I just did a standard 12 month quote - £187!
Thats TPFT, un garaged - no option for 'double-locked shed with ground anchor'.
Well pleased with that, very very tempted.
Still probably wait until the Spring though - these days I have a bike and a car unlike previously when it was bike only

Where are you gettin these quotes from??? When i was in the Uk i was paying £990 a year and that was after a week of searching. I pay £220 here and i thought that was good.

Isn't that the norm with most companies if you only have tpft or tp only

not entirely sure... but with other companies, i've always been able to ride Pete's bikes on my tpft insurance ( MCE, Carole Nash)
That's interesting Kaz, I'm not entirely sure either perhaps some others will add their experiences

With Bennetts you need fully comp to ride other bikes
