I'm quietly stewing...

My tank is fooked and I'm waiting on a replacement arriving.

Still not here yet... 5 days to go...

No tank = not going.

Tank arrived 10am.

It's beautiful. So lucky.

Tank breaks (filler cap snapped in half and dropped into the tank - was an interesting ride home with no cap...)

Went on e-bay and top of the list for "firestorm tank" search was a 1998 one, mint nick, and silver too.

Bid slapped in straight away, "reserve not met..." Hmmm, assbiscuits.

Phone the guy "hey, I need this tank, tell me what I need to do to end this early and you send it me now."

(It's an auto part place in Scotland) guy checks with boss... "can't, she won't end it early"

"Look, I'm going to Italy on Wednesday"

"Eep! feel for you man, but she won't go for it... I can tell you the reserve though..."

I slap bid in, "highest bidder, reserve met" wheee. Auction due to end while I'm at work with no PC access. Assbiscuits. I just now it's gonna get sniped by the other guy that had a bid on...

Quick phone call to my mate, explain the skinny, he will watch it.

Sure enough, 25 seconds to run, outbid by a quid. Mate countersnipes and its all mine baby!

Now panic that it's not gonna arrive or it's gonna be a sham and be a total shite heap that's unuseable.

No worries, arrived 36 hours later, and it is a minter.

Extremely fortunate the Honda filler cap I bought I didn't sell or send back. I even managed to dig up some of those wierd little special honda tank bolts off my old CB500 i had in a washing up bowl in the garage.

So, just to actually fit it now and away we go.

Phew.

Tanks fitted, all fairings stripped, checked over. Headlight stripped out, removed 2 inch of water from it... dunno what that was all about. new bulbs fitted, chain done, tyres done.

Sorted.

Maybe... I dunno if its worth going to Squires when it's so close to where we need to be.

Course, those who suffer from O.M.B. need extra stops...
