That's what comes of trying to edit it before it's uploaded properly - wondered how that happened.

Should have a delete button for your own posts - seen 'em on some other forums, be ideal for just this type of embarrassing situation.

Help me out here oh Gods of the forum with mystical powers!!!

And what about adding a delete button?

Done it ... go back 'edit' and replace lots of repeated stuff with Blah Blah Blah!

Got my coat ready someone!

PS - now I'm really depressed - just seen the 'X' when I submitted this post (I'm editing it now BTW) but still none on previous.

Presumably it's cos Alan had already responded - made it so I couldn't delete it (breaks the thread?)

So it's all Alans' fault now!!!!!!!!!!!

Well that'll really cheer him up

Oh yeah, forgot to mention -

I also wear a mirrored dark visor - Well menacing!!

Apparently, but I only see it from the inside!

I do usually carry a boring clear one with me though or a legal irridium one, just in case.

Does that make me a bad person?

Perhaps I'll be giving lots of angelic bikers a bad name with that too?

The way I look at it is - they're better off being intimidated by my visor, than horrified, stupified or suffer fatal hilarity from my dodgy boat!

OMG! 8O

I also wear Stranglers T-shirts amongst others including a number of poor taste ones.

While I'm confessing....

I smoke - although I'm thinking about giving up again, but only if I can still be a 'bad' biker - I don't want no halo and wings me!

I fart, snore, swear, have lewd thoughts and have been known to polish my fine rocket occaisionally ('it's my rocket and I'll polish it when and how I want to').

That's me doomed then - GOOD!

At least I'll be nice and warm, stoking the boilers!

Rich, where were you and the other demi Gods when I needed ya to undo (delete) my multiposting?

Oh yeah - just reminded me of an old song...

Angelic Upstarts I think ... Angels with dirty faces!

Sheeesh! Talk about hijacking a thread!

You lads take it behind the play shed at school & leave me to admire my motivational posters! :P

(note the little emoticonny thingies, indicating my lack of desire to be bagged out for having a go at someone... they're very handy  )

just to clarify the points raised in the derails...

plates: if it's not proper size (64mm letters and not on one line, Alan :) ) then it's non-endorsable (no points) but you can still get fined. ACPO (police top bods) recommend that a plate readable from 20 meters is OK, but this has no bearing on the letter of the law. If you have a really naughty plate, with altered, creatively arranged or trick anti flash measures, you're in deep doo doo as you're looking at a possible 2 year jail time. Mine has slightly smaller lettering, (bout 50mm) but I've never had a problem

cans: must be properly stamped with BS or EU marking. Removable baffles only count when fitted, even though the can is properly marked without them. If you alter it by removing them, it's doo doo time again. ACPO says race cans should be OK, but loud stuff or noise complaints can see you get anything from a defect notice, to a fine, to points to an ASBO (!!) You must also have informed your insurer or you could be riding without insurance. My insurers are fine and the traffic cops I park next to at work never bother either, but mine is half baffled and isn't ear shattering but fruity

visors: letter of the law says must allow 70% light transmission (most race visors are as dark as 30%) ACPO says daytime use is OK, adverse weather and low light means clear ones only. I carry a clear one whenever I wear mine.

So what does this mean? Well, if you're slightly less than legal, you should be OK unless you get a complete juggler or you give them attitude. Sorry Alan, looks like you got juggler that day :( Sadly the ACPO stuff are guidelines only and forces can choose to ignore them however they wish. Also, I'm not plod or a lawyer, I just like to know where I stand.

Still, a £30 ticket isn't too bad really, could have been more and some points if he really wanted to.

I agree 100% Kitch its not the 30 quid ticket that pissed me off its that its always on a bike night and never on the car meets.

If there enforcing the law then lets have it fair and equal.

I also agree with Kitch and Alan :)

Thanks to Kitch for providing the clarification.

If we've got guidelines and / or laws lets have

Equality For Bikers!

What can we burn in place of bra's? Do we need to chain ourselves to railings? Throw ourselves in front of race horses? (Or T5 Traffic cars?)

Let's see the same level of Police presence at car meets wherever they are, not just Squires - With the same pull rates for exhausts, plates, wheels which protrude beyond wings, Stereo's whose volume / bass would knock a Zeppelin sound system into a cocked hat etc!

I'm not against good loud stereo's particularly - just lets have things on a level footing

I won't even mention HD's (ooops I did)
