Road Triiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip!!!

Post by VTRgirl »

Leaving for a road trip in an hour or so. Friend suggested running away at about 9pm last night. Both worked night duty, now the nap's been had ('cept me coz I'm just too darn excited) & then we're off.

Wednesday around noon here & we're both shirking work until Monday, so back home Sunday. Reckon we'll be headin' south. Just point the needle to the twisties & go wherever we please. Probably end up in Sydney by tomorrow night (don't tell Larry or we'll have to visit  ). Actually, Larry, fire up that ducted heating! We might need a place to stay! :P

Sure there'll be many a yarn to be told & photo to be shown upon our return, so in the meantime, you all have a nice time at work :biggrin

Someone forgot to mention someone's helmet in someone's casualty list... 160kph in the dark without a visor wouldn't be on my list of Things to Try, but each to their own

Only damage I sustained was to the Visa. Not sure if the rather canvassy back tyre can be counted, since it was a tad on the expected side.

No idea how many kilometres we clocked up (somewhere between 2,500 & 3,000 I think). Just did the twisty bits until it got too cold/dark & then picked an outback country pub to stay at. Great few days.

First stop...

Thats some heavyweight insect population control there
Voted most likely to be found dead in park bushes following an act of autoerotic asphyxiation.

That's only a coupla seconds work there Kitch. The view was looking fine & then all of a sudden... Still, beats all the dead kangaroos we had to swerve around on the final stint today.

I got me zapped by a stationary speed camera (maybe equivalent to your "Gatso"? :? For some reason in New South Wales, they give you about 2km of warning signs before you hit the camera, & since it was facing the front of the bike (the same camera does both sides of the road), I figured why bother slowing down... so I gave them a lovely wave & carried on my merry way :D . I'm not sure if Incy got flashed, but he gave them a different kind of wave...
