What i was asking is does honda do the first 600 mile service free...

the first service is usually done by the dealer you bought the bike from, so its a deal they would do on the selling of the bike as to wether its free or not, for my storm i think it was at 1000 miles. not sure on the costs of the second service as the SP is different but wouldn't think it would be more than a couple of hundred and thats dealer prices.

I paid £304 all in for an 8k service and front and rear cct's to be replaced on my storm from a Honda main dealer, which I must admit I didn't feel was too bad. I also got use of a courtesy bike for the day 8)

The first service is normally free from the Dealer it was bought from. My '02 Storm had been sat in the showroom for quite a while (found out later it was an '00 FY Model) and so was sold at a heavy discount from a shop in the Croydon area.

When the guy who bought it came to have it serviced (first 500 mile service), he had the choice of riding all the way up to Dealer in Croydon (he hailed from Somerset) or paying just over a £100 and getting it done locally from Riders of Bridgwater.

He chose the latter and I still have the invoice.

I'm not sure what happens if, within the first service period, the bike changes hands. I would assume the retailing Dealer would honour it, but I can't be sure?

Hope this helps.

Michael
