I have just emailed oxford from a link on their site to make them aware of this issue & ask for an explanation.

Zanx, or Captain Cropper as he's also known is a top guy.

Almax chains and Squire padlocks are what you want. Unboltcropable.

I read about this a year or so back in mcn,not long after i'd taken delivery of my Oxford lock. There was i .lock opened in one hand felt tip pen in the other 8O I think when it was put to Oxford at the time, they offered a refund & changed the design moving away from barrel type keys.I'd stay clear of these type locks altogether(barrel keys)'cos i used exactly the same method to "help" my manager get into his "safe" at work not so long ago
cheers

Dreadful eh, and rather a scary way to show that a chain/security system is only as strong as its weakest link or in this case the lock opeartion itself!

Jeez, how old is that?
This was reported in various bike mags at the end of 2004

I got one of the old style locks from Busters for about £15
Then contacted Oxford who replaced it FOC with the newest model
I've got an inferiority complex
But its not a very good one!
