Thats every blokes worst nightmare m8, being out with the partner, and running into a couple of idiots, intent on being 'hardmen'

Timbo had some good advice there tho. Im a bit bad with the ole roadrage now and then, specially people who, cut you up/dont signal at roundabouts, and generally have zero consideration for others. So i might have gone down the same route as you!

Just good to hear there hasnt been a worse outcome.

Yeah narrow escape there matey.

I get pissed off at other drivers for various/usual reasons but most of the time now I'm pretty chilled. What did it for me was, driving in to work one day on the M61 there were two guys duking it out (queensbury rules) on the hard shoulder with both their cars parked up at a jaunty angle. They were practically chasing each other around the cars including into the first lane where traffic was doing 70mph easy. I just thought to myself "bet those guys didn't think they'd be doing that by 8.15 this morning" and how ridiculous it looked. And all for what... So my attitude these days is just to get where I'm going avoiding the idiots, and make it there in one piece with no drama. That goes double if I've got my missus in the car.

I'm not for one second saying any of what happened was your fault mate, just saying that when you spot one of these Richard (not hard to do) just make sure you give em a very wide berth early on in the game. Works a treat.

The one time I had someone follow me and get out the car, I led the mother f***ker to somewhere with loads of witnesses (Asda) and cctv in case it turned nasty. I wasn't in the mood for a scrap whatsoever, I was just popping out to get some flowers for my missus on valentines day and I thought I really can do without coming home all bloodied and battered (which will happen regardless of whether ya win or lose the fight!). So I backed down and calmed it down. Once he was made to feel like a proper hardnut he waltzed off all smug. That pissed me off for about a month, backing down does not come easily to me and I still feel like I've got unfinished business should I ever see him around BUT it was an alternative and I've no doubt my day would've been worse for it if I'd just started duking it out there and then. I suppose at the end of the day a real man only fights when there's no alternative. It's the soft b8stard that fight at the drop of a hat, to let everyone to know how hard they are.

Phew Lucky escape! 8O
I had a friend who stopped on the main Gloucester road down town a few years back to help a guy led in the middle of the road and he ended up with a broken jaw, a cracked skull and a couple of busted ribs for his trouble.
The thing is you just don't know what you might be up against these days and I know it's a sh!t to say but being a good samaritan just isn't wise anymore.

Bl00dy hell.....what a total kn0b gobbler (glad to hear you are OK).

What is it with 4x4 drivers? I was stuck in really slow traffic on Sunday on the A6 going into Preston. Behind my was a Mitsubishi Shogun...the driver and passenger were sitting in traffic, swigging cans of Carling. WTF

I reported them to Plod, who needless to say completley failed to bother trying to stop them.

Off they went down the M6 with cans in their hands. Mental.

It is a horrible situation I know. On a lighter note, one of the funniest episodes I saw was in Norwich, where a Very ImportanT Company Representative held his hand on the horn after a Volvo, with a couple in it, had done something he didn't like, like filtering in front of him where two lanes became one. The traffic then stopped

The Volvo driver didn't get out - his wife did. She walked straight up to the reps driver door and asked, in a very loud voice, what his problem was. Did he have a small Richard or something? The driver just sat there, going bright red as everyone around was laughing their heads off.

Glad you're ok mate and more importantly the wife and baby. Do you remember the full plate? It is always fun to buy a copy from an internet website, hire a Q7 and go around getting flashed by lots of speed cameras. He will find it very hard to fight that one off!

That was a bit close Mike :!: Glad too hear things didn't get any worse for you and the expectant Vicky, although I bet that did shake you all up :!: It's times like that when they were walking up towards your car you wish you had a sawn-off double barrelled 12 bore with you. I know in reality thats not the answer, and as others have said you are probably better off keeping out of these idiots way if possible, so you do live to tell the tale :!: But I know how this people make you feel and it's difficult to ignore :!:

Whilst I am avery liberal personal (don't believe in capital or sorporal punishment, for example) sometimes I think, wouldn't it be nice if the police had powers of summary execution to get these b8stard off our streets? They keep offending because they know they get away with it more often than not.

We've just bought something that should help if ever I get into any of these roadrage situations.

Actually, that's his mum. I cant show the wee man because the cuteness police have put a restraining order on his picture.
