Well, bike came back from having its jetting and all that funky tuning stuff done. Its now much louder, power is smooth everywhere and there's about 5 bhp more of it.
Which is all well and good.
The ride home, the bike kept dying, and wouldn't tickover. No amount of twiddling the idle adjuster made any difference and the poor bike just wouldn't have it.
Eventually figured out the battery was shagged, so more expense on a new one of those. Rectifier is probably on its way out too and maybe killed the battery, so new one of those too.
*sigh*
Top it all, I can't find my battery charger.
Never mind, few mins on ebay and I'm awaiting an Optimate and an R1 RR.
Still, isnt it always the case that when you fix something, you only discover something else thats broken.
This doesn't help me in that I'm supposed to be going to a big do tomorrow all booked and paid for and was supposed to be getting my suspension Rogered on Monday that I now can't afford to do.

I feel your pain!
But, having done the R6 Reg/rec mod, its safe to say, when u do it, you'll be chuffed.
Looks, feels and is more robust than the piece of sh1t stock thing.
How d'ya know the batt is knacked? Mine had takin quite a beatin recently, what with dodgy starters/earths etc, but a night on an optimate, and the reg/rec mod, and it seems fine n dandy.
Looks like its the original Yuasa battery too, which would make it about 7 years old ¬_¬

Same as mine, but mine could be getting on for 9 years
(if it hasnt been changed, even so its at least 2 years old)
Starts straight away with no trouble at all with jump leads on.
Still, got a shiny new one now, so should be problem free for ages now I have new CCTs new battery, new rectifier, air filter, jetted and tuned on dyno, upgraded suspension (eventually
) and should be well sorted for excellent power, control and durability.
Its cost a fair whack all in all, but its worth it as I plan to be keeping this bike for a good few years yet.

. I troo am keeping the bike for a while so it will all be worth it in the end. Hopefully all will be done for the return of the good weather

Well, R1 rectifier fitted. Dead easy, bargain too from a guy race prepping an R1. Stuff yor £80 Mr. Honda, I'll have this for a tenner, ta.
Optimate plug fitted and charging and it all works fine.
So, far as I can tell, IT LIVES! Mwahahahahaha.
