Well, it took a bit of Honda FireStorm site searching, but I eventually found you VTRGirl here!

D'oh! My secret's out. I'm not a bloke! (And to the first "misquoter" who plans to quote me & remove the word "not", :P :P :P )

Someone asked for a pic of me & my bike... I should've had one taken yesterday. Had the tank bag extended to the extreme (about 3" off the top of the double-bubble) with a tray of mangoes, nectarines & cherries sitting on top, as well as a fully loaded & extended matching bag strapped to the pillion seat. Considering the rain & me dressed up like the Michelin Man, I definitely attracted some laughs & finger-pointing (not to mention the many chastising comments & eye-rolling from my mother as I left their place...).

Well, licence suspended for about 20 minutes this morning :D

Just enough time to get to the Magistrate's Court (on foot...), file my "Special Hardship" application & get back to the Transport Department (walking walking walking...) to have it reinstated until the court date. Naturally, it rained all day.

So 17th January is D Day for me. Now it's just up to whatever mood His Honourable Honour is in on the day. Last time I faced a court room, I was instructing a barrister. I think this might have a slightly different feel to it... :?

Fingers crossed!

Good luck with that. Just remember, go in with no attitude and be contrite. Hopefully you'll get a compassionate Judge.

Thanks guys. And thanks for the advice, Pete. I worked in law for a fair while before I swapped to nursing, so I kinda know how to play the game.

Just have to wait now. Ho hum. Did about 3 hours today (in the rain...) & have now dropped the bike off for a service, so I'm bikeless for a day or two anyway. Wonder if they'd let me count that towards my suspension... Hmmm...

Woohoo! Pretty much got what I wanted. I can drive 24 hours, 7 days for the purposes of work only. Direct route to & from, etc.

They wouldn't allow volunteering for the bike shop rides, saying if they needed me that badly, they could take me. Fair enough. It was worth a crack. LOL. I think I may have a loop-hole on that one anyway, but gotta fine-tune it yet. Am looking along the lines of my boss "donating" nursing services for the rides... We'll see.

Either way, I'm happy with today.

Well Done.
Will this make you slow down a bit or at least improve your observation skills

No... It will just make me only ride to work & back. LOL. Can't see it as a "lesson well learnt", but I will abide by the order. Spoke to my lawyer (gotta love having one in the family... LOL) & he advised not pushing the bike shop thing, so might just leave that as is.

I did get got whilst on Good Behaviour! Hence going to court. I was too scared to ask what happens if I stuff up now. I expect they'd just suspend me for longer & longer. It's not worth it. If I ride like a Shayne for six months (OzFS joke...), then my licence will be restored to sparkling new afterwards, so that's my plan. I shall keep my knitting on board.

Oops I missed this one :!:

Excellent VTRgirl, I'm pleased too hear you just managed to keep your licence, even if it is only for work purposes, at least you get to ride your bike :D

Make sure you don't bend the rules in the next six months, as they'll probably throw the book at you next time :!:
