yup, i had the same thing at the end of summer last year, i had my amazon account hacked, a £500 quid laptop ordered to a delivery address in london and then my paypall account hacked a week after, but as i keep my email open all day when i'm at work and who ever hacked me was to thick to change the email address i got warning of the impending delivery of my pc...., phoned amazon, they were no help, just shut my account down and that was it, credit cards linked to amazon were all cancelled and then paypal thing happened, they were really helpfull, changed my account details there and then.

dont like paypal, primarily because they are owned by ebay, secondly because the charges for using BUT in their defence, when I had a problem recently they were straight on it and froze the account before I knew there was a problem.
the most inconvenient part (probably the safest) was that I had to fax them proof of address as Timbo said, not many places I go to have a fax. I had to use the works one 8pm one evening.

I didn't want to start another thread about paypal so just thought I'd tag it on here :)

I've just sold an item on ebay and the buyer has sent the payment via paypal, but it's arrived in the form of an echeque and the clearance date is the 18th March!!! by the time that's cleared and then I've transferred it to my bank account, subject to another week of clearance and weekends I may get my money in three weeks time!!!

So much for instant payment!!! :(

Timbo wrote: Tip - make sure u tell the idiot that used the eCheque what is going on so he doesnt neg you, they usually just think its as good as CC or cash so email him, he can recall payment and use card if he has one.
I emailed him pretty much instantly to let him know what had happened. The annoying part is it was £250 for a camera lens, money I really needed in my bank account asap to pay for a scooter I've put a deposit on. It's not going to leave me in any real financial hardship, just means I'll have to use my credit card when I could of used cash :(
