Just had a text message from a friend who is R A F Regiment about the army corporal who was refused accomodation at a hotel because he is military personnel he is on medical leave from afghanistan and was visiting a mate who was injured and is at DSMRU Headly court .

I am used to it, have had to put up with it for the last 20 yrs so I wont be bothering mate. I have been beaten to a pulp by some local massey fergason owners club and had our bus bricked to destruction (in Scotland) just for being in the military. Go to USA and your ID card gets you discount on everything but here you have to be a student. To be honest some of the behaviour of our lads when drinking can be shocking and maybee have overstepped the mark at this guys hotel on the other hand it could be that a squaddie is shagging his daughter . Who knows could be more to it than meets the eye.

Having never been in the forces, I was totally unaware of these negative sentiments. It is appalling - we should hold those who defend this country and our way of life in the highest esteem.
