Hi,
As the title says, Austria Anyone?
Dave Silver Zipper's not long back from a 7 day tour there.
Very biker friendly, including the hotels, loads of superb roads, they even supply you with a map with 8 great looking circular routes taking in some fantastic scenery along the way.
Dave was raving about it on Sunday over a cuppa at his place post Firestorm meet - sounds brilliant, unlike our country where bikers are persecuted at every opportunity, they welcome us!
From what he was saying, food accommodation etc was all very reasonable too.
He took the Hull-Rotterdam/Zeebruge ferry, but reckons he'd go on the channel link next time round.
So, how about it? anyone interested
More information can be found here:
http://www.motorrad.kaernten.at/Default ... 728&jid=SO
The site has downloadable maps of each of the 8 routes with detailed directions in English as well as downloadable GPS files for all the popular makes, including GPX files for my Garmin Zumo
You can also order (free) the fullsize map with all routes (in English), as well as other information and brochures covering walking and cycling too.
If there's enough interest, maybe we could do an international Storm tour?
Due to the wifes work restrictions on holidays, we'd have to go during school holidays, so maybe Springbank next year?
Not sure what the snow's like that 'early' in the year (last week in May iirc), so maybe later, like 3rd week in July?
Graeme

OK guys,
I guess Spring Bank is out for Austria - perhaps later in the year as above, July?
So this thread hopefully doesn't get hi-jacked, I've posted one for Mugello GP
